In January 2016, we met the old fashioned way... through our friends! With a little help from the online dating app Hinge that connects hopeful couples through the friends of their Facebook friends. Turns out we needed just one more ring of our social networks to connect us! We had over 20 friends in common on Facebook. You know who you are... and you have to live with the fact the internet did your matchmaking job on your behalf.

How it happened...
How it happened...
JD told Steph that the couple they were meeting for dinner were running late. He suggested grabbing the camera to shoot some city shots by the river.
When they got out to the island in the Mississippi JD asked Steph to stand in front of the camera to focus it. Instead he walked up to her and proposed with the camera rolling!
Steph didn't let JD stay on one knee for long! "Yes yes yes, of course I will!" she responded.
Friend and person of honor Will Keeler was hiding on the shore taking photos and came out to greet them and snap some shots. They walked back to the shore.
What Steph didn't know was the fact that Aster Cafe was filled with friends and family ready to celebrate. JD pulled off the impossible - completely surprising Steph!
Steph was surprised and uncharacteristically bashful, but couldn't imagine a better way to celebrate such an important moment.
Right away the hugs began!
And didn't stop until everyone was greeted!
Amos didn't know what to make of it all, similar to when he was asked to be ring bearer. You'll understand when you get older buddy!
And thus began life as fiancés!
